New Brunswick is home to various designations, including:
PSW (personal support worker)
CCA (Continuing Care Assistant)
HSW (Home Support Worker)
Conversations with a multiple employers in the province yielded one result. Unless particular care is needed, most of these designations are interchangeable, and employers are interested in prospective employees that have one of the designations, although PSW & CCA seem to be the two most popular going forward.
Courses are similar to that of an Ontario PSW course, as 500+ theory hours are required in addition to 300+ on-field co/op placement hours, along with an end of course certification exam.
